Why Do Some Sheep Behave Like Goats?

Why are these sheep thinking like goats, talking like goats, and acting like goats? It's because in our culture, most sheep are almost always surrounded by goats - even in the churches. How can we fix the problem?

In John 21:17, Jesus tells Peter, "Feed my sheep." Notice that Jesus didn't tell him to feed the goats.

    Churches, Pastors, and Teachers:
We need to stop feeding the goats and start feeding the sheep. One might say, "Okay, but there are also lost sheep amongst the goats. We need to speak to feed them, too." That's true. But we need to realize that sheep and goats respond to different things. Goats like to be entertained; sheep respond to the Word of God. This is true with lost sheep, too. Feed the sheep and the lost sheep will respond positively. The goats may not like it, but that's okay; the Church doesn't exist to please the goats.

    Sheep:
If you're a sheep, regardless of how long you've been saved, you need to be spending time in the Word of God. You're likely surrounded daily by goats who try to get you to eat the same stuff they eat. But sheep are very different than goats. If you're a sheep, you weren't made to survive on the garbage the goats eat. You need sheep food. If you are a sheep who has been trying to survive on goat food, get away from the goats and either eat by yourself; or even better, with other sheep. Do this for a while, and one day you may notice that you're beginning to think, talk, and act very differently than you did before. When this happens, thank God, because it will mean that you're no longer living like a goat, but as a sheep.
