Conversation idea:
Luke 17:1 warns us against the danger of encouraging others to sin. The passage continues in verse 2 saying, “It would be better for him to have a millstone hung around his neck and to be thrown into the sea than to cause one of these little ones to stumble.” Democrats today are hell-bent on encouraging sin, normalizing sin, protecting sin, and spreading sin to even the youngest members of our society. They will pay a heavy price in the next life, but we must do what we can to minimize the damage they are doing to churches, communities, families, and especially children, in this life.
Responding to comments:
You can choose to engage as much or as little as you like with this one. People will either believe or they won’t; they will either care or they won’t. Some of the harshest words in Scripture are directed against corrupt religious rulers, false prophets, false teachers, and those who lead others into sin. A quick online search will provide an ample amount of material for discussion.
Someone might question why Luke 17:1 makes it sound like the one who leads someone to sin will be punished more severely than the one who commits the sin. Unless they repent, won’t they both end up in hell? You can respond to this question by sharing Luke 12:47-48 which warns of differing levels of punishment. Should be a fun discussion!
