Conversation idea:

The Left won’t be satisfied until they cast off every moral restraint and force everyone to celebrate their debauchery with them. Their use of the word “pride” is a declaration that they’re proud of their sin, and their egregious misappropriation of God’s rainbow shouts defiantly that they will oppose God and anything else that stands in their way, including Christianity, traditional families, natural order, decency, and even common sense.

Displaying this art print is not likely to change their minds, but it will remind Christians and others that what the Left is demanding is not merely that we accept their personal lifestyle choices, but that we join them in their open and defiant rebellion against God. It will also remind the Left that real Christians do not accept their claim that God approves of every lifestyle choice and every form of sexual expression.

Responding to comments:

This can be a hot one. The Left has a number of talking points they use to claim that the Bible does not prohibit homosexuality. They also have a number of so-called Christian authors who have put these arguments into print, and the Left loves to point to these as proof of their claims. Of course, their claims are wrong, but most people on the Left don’t know what the Bible actually says, and those who do know don’t care. Their goal is to muddy the waters, create confusion, and cause Christians to have doubts about how clear the Bible actually is on this topic.

If your Bible knowledge is sufficient and you’re familiar with the arguments, then by all means try to guide people into a correct understanding of the truth of God’s Word. If you’re not fully prepared and you are confronted with a Bible argument you’re not prepared to discuss, you can thank them for the argument and tell them you’ll research it and get back to them. This does two (and possibly three) things. First, it tells them you’re taking their argument seriously and not just blowing it off. Second, it models the discipline of fact-checking. Most people on the Left will not have fact-checked the talking points they’re using. Third, it might possibly get you another opportunity to talk with them later if you wish.

If you’re not prepared to discuss the Left’s twisted attempts to reimagine Scripture to justify their sin, then point out that the message simply says, “Sin is not something to be proud of.” You can ask them if they agree with that statement and tell them that you do. If they try to say that the message colors make it look like you’re talking about LGBTQ, tell them the message uses colors from God’s rainbow, and then see if they’ll listen while you tell them the story of sin in Noah’s day, God’s judgment, and the promise connected to the rainbow.
